Section C - Foundation Horse/Pony

Foundation Horse - Standard of Excellence

The Foundation Horse is a well balanced, conformed animal, not exceeding 9.2 hands in height, measured at the last hair of the mane, possessing good temperament and free from hereditary unsoundness.

LEGS        Squarely set, straight bone. Strong, sloping pasterns ending in open hooves.

HEAD     Proportionate to the body, with alert expression and well set eyes.

TEETH   Should meet evenly, a maxiumum 3mm in over or under-bite.

NECK   A good length of rein, flexible without heaviness.

In judging, where all other points are equal, the smallest shall be given preference.

All colours are acceptable.

Foundation Pony - Standard of Excellence

The Foundation Horse is a well balanced, conformed animal, not exceeding 9.2 hands in height, measured at the highest point of the wither, possessing good temperament and free from hereditary unsoundness.

LEGS        Squarely set, straight bone. Strong, sloping pasterns ending in open hooves.

HEAD       Proportionate to the body, with alert and well set eyes.

TEETH     Should meet evenly, a maxiumum 3mm in over or under-bite.

NECK      A good length of rein, flexible without heaviness
